Prawn - Thenga Thokku( Coconut masala)
Ingredients:
2 onions, diced
1 tomato, diced or puréed
Coconut oil
Ginger-garlic paste
2 slit green chillies
1 stem of curry leaves
2 tbsp Madras Curry Powder
Salt, to taste
Washed prawns
1 tsp South Indian Meat Masala
Shredded coconut (for a thick consistency) or coconut milk (for a gravy consistency)
Coriander leaves, for garnish
Steam rice, for serving
Get Cooking:
Heat coconut oil in a pan and sauté diced onions until golden.
Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until aromatic.
Stir in slit green chillies and curry leaves, sautéing for a few seconds.
Add the diced or puréed tomato, cooking until mushy.
Mix in the curry powder and cook well until the oil separates.
Season with salt to taste.
Add the washed prawns, mixing well to incorporate. Cook for 5 minutes or until prawns are cooked through.
Stir in the meat masala.
For a thick consistency, add shredded coconut. For a gravy, pour in coconut milk. Cook for an additional 3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with steamed rice. Enjoy your meal! 🍚
